Many people focus on race and gender when they think of diversity. However, diversity includes a much wider focus. Inclusion requires creating an environment where a wide variety of voices are heard and appreciated. It’s important that these voices represent a broad spectrum of diversity, including, but not limited to:

  • Race
  • Gender/ Gender Identity
  • Culture
  • Religion
  • Age
  • Sexual orientation
  • Disability
  • Political views

When we draw on the wisdom, perspective, and experiences from a diverse population, we are better able to meet the needs of our growing community. We must make every resident feel welcome and proud to call New Braunfels home. Here, we are better because of our differences, not despite them.
